Old Palace choir shared their singing talent in recent Music Tour to Malta.
At the start of the summer holiday, a choir of 30 singers consisting of Years 7-13 Old Palace students had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the beautiful Mediterranean island of Malta for their annual Music Tour. The musical highlights of the trip included the three concerts at the Grand Harbour, on the island of Gozo and outside the National Library in Valetta. The programme included many of the choir’s favourite pieces from recent performances, including extracts from Jenkins’ Adiemus, a medley from Les Misérables and several works by Chilcott as well as solos and duets from members of the choir.
There was plenty of time to explore the fascinating history and landscape of the Maltese islands also which included a harbour cruise, a trip to the National Aquarium, a tour of the Citadel of Gozo, and the natural stone arch known as the “Azure Window”.
The Music Department at Old Palace School provides many varied performances opportunities throughout the year. Recent trips include Barcelona, Florence, Venice, Paris and Amsterdam.
