Old Palace at the Royal Opera House

A Noteworthy Performance at The Royal Opera house for Old Palace School.

During the Easter holidays five girls from Old Palace Chamber Choir were invited to audition for solo roles in the Royal Opera House’s forthcoming production of Werther by Massenet. One Year 10 student was chosen to be the understudy for two of the young girl roles. Rehearsals start in May for the performance in June.

Chamber Choir have also been invited back again to sing with the Royal Opera House, and 15 girls will be appearing on stage in Oedipe by Enescu in May. This is a very exciting opportunity for the students at Old Palace to work with internationally renowned singers and musicians in one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world.

“We are delighted to have been invited back to perform at the Royal Opera House following the successful production of Suor Angelique in March.  It is especially exciting that the girls will be on-stage for this production of Oedipe working with some of the top singers and musicians in the world.”
