Former Trinity School pupil Sam Woods has been signed by Crystal Palace Football Club.

Sam, who left the school in Shirley Park, Croydon in 2015, is a centre-back, but often played in midfield for the school. He was part of a very successful Trinity team that included being crowned Croydon Cup winners, and was a starting member for the school’s first team by the time he was 16.

David Kingston, Head of Football at Trinity, said: “Sam was passionate about school football and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. I had no doubts he would go far and to finally sign a professional contract comes as no surprise to the people who have seen him play. Everyone at Trinity wishes him the best of luck and we are all immensely proud, hopefully we will be watching him playing in the premier league, then maybe even representing his country.”
