Old Palace celebrates Founders' Day with a special service at Croydon Minster.

In September, Old Palace hosted its annual Founders’ Day service at Croydon Minster. This year the School was delighted to welcome the Minster’s new Priest in Charge, the Revd Canon Dr Andrew Bishop.

In accordance with tradition, the procession was led by the four House Captains and Vanessa, the Head girl, who carried the Crucifix.

The Address was read by Dr Georgia Ladbury – an Alumna and epidemiologist – who brought along her perfectly behaved 10 week old daughter, Daphne. Georgia was at Old Palace from 1993-2000 and it clearly made a strong impression on her. She cited three things that the School had taught her: the value of learning and the ability to evaluate evidence: the value of being part of a diverse community and, most importantly, that girls can do anything! She challenged the current OP students to: “go out and make the world a better place.”

The service ended with a rousing rendering of the School Song.
