Old Palace Preparatory School students take part in ‘Young Voices’ at the O2 Arena.
Students from Old Palace Preparatory School recently travelled to London to take part in one of the 22nd series of ‘Young Voices’ at the O2 Arena. The day started with great excitement as they received a mention on the ‘School Run’ segment of Classic FM. Even more exciting was the chance to have a class photo under the new Old Palace advert at East Croydon Station!
After a long day spent rehearsing 14 different songs, the lights went down and, in front of a huge audience of family and friends, Old Palace Preparatory School joined with all the other schools to perform in what is the world’s biggest children’s choir.
As one pupil said afterwards: “It felt enthralling to sing in a choir of nearly 8,000 people. The O2 is massive and when we saw inside for the first time we were shocked at how big it was! The lighting was amazing because it made the overall effect so colourful. One of the songs we liked the most was ‘Name that Toon’ as it had all our favourite cartoon theme tunes in one medley. We will never forget singing at the O2.”
