Old Palace students compete in the English Schools Under 13 Water Polo Championships.

The English Schools Under 13 Water Polo Championships were held at Alleyns School, Dulwich recently. Old Palace played magnificently, narrowly missing out on winning the first game 3-2. Sarra scored both Old Palace goals with fantastic shots.

The team consisted of 13 players, nine of whom had only ever attended training sessions and played games during their school lessons. The second game was against the toughest opposition, Alleyns, who are the current National Champions. The score was 7-0. However, five of the Alleyns goals were scored in the first half, which shows how well Old Palace played during the second period.

In their third game, they scored three fantastic goals, two more by Sarra and one scored by Lily. Mrs Smith and Mrs Tamplin were also delighted by the defensive work of the team. On the minibus journey home, the girls were extremely motivated by having played so competitively and scoring goals, so much so that they would like to stage some Water Polo related fundraising events to raise money towards the cost of purchasing Water Polo goal posts for Old Palace.

Look out for further information.
