Old Palace Year 5 pupils

Old Palace pupils give a wonderful performance at Whitgift House annual Christmas Carol service.

It is always a pleasure when students from The Whitgift Foundation Schools have the opportunity to meet with the residents at the Whitgift Care Homes.  Prep Polyphonic from Old Palace of John Whitgift School were invited to sing for the residents of Whitgift House at their annual Christmas Carol service with pupils in Year 5 reporting on the service:

On Sunday 6 December Prep Polyphonic were invited to sing for the residents of Whitgift House at their annual Christmas Carol Service. The performance was well received with a selection of carols including two special ones called `Winter Solstice’ and ‘The Day That Christ Was Born’.

The performance was held in the chapel which made a beautiful sound as the choir sang accompanied by a wooden oak organ. There was a dazzling decorative Christmas tree and stained glass windows, including one of John Whitgift.

We all really enjoyed this experience and had a wonderful time.  It was a great opportunity and we would like to say thank you to Miss Fitzgerald and Mr Hemmings.
