The Whitgift Almshouses provides accommodation in rental flats for 15 elderly residents that are heavily subsidised by The Whitgift Foundation. Admission criteria for the Almshouses was established by our founder, Archbishop John Whitgift, more than 400 years ago and can be found here.

Out of respect for its residents, conducted tours of this landmark building are limited and take place at scheduled times throughout the year or through specific requests made by local groups and organisations.

The public are next invited to step through the gates of the Whitgift Almshouses during Open House London in September. Guests will be able to book tour tickets from mid-August. Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook to be the first to hear when tickets are released.
