Team achieve outstanding feat of reaching the Investec ISFA Cup final for the fifth consecutive year.

Whitgift U13 football team beat Lochinver House School to progress to the final. Though Lochinver maintained an organised defence early on, Whitgift’s Jordan Harrison managed to score before half-time. Minutes after the second half had commenced, Jude Russell found the corner of the goal for Whitgift's second. The score stayed 2-0 until the last 10 minutes of the game, at which point Jamal Musiala and Luke Abai Haddon sealed the victory, with Jamal scoring a brace. The match was played at Lochinver House School in Potters Bar, Herefordshire.

The team has overcome some tough opposition along the way, such as Shrewsbury House and Hampton, as well as enjoying some high scoring victories including a 15-0 win against John Lyon School.

Mr Andrew Martin commented on his team’s progression, “The boys have been superb so far this season, managing to still be in all competitions at the end of January. We are now going into the tough part of the season, with each match being a big one, but I am confident that the boys will continue to succeed.”

The U13s had emerged victorious last year, against Chigwell School, with an exhilarating Hudson-Odoi hat-trick, the first in an Investec final. There will be great anticipation for the corresponding fixture this year, which will take place on 5 March at Burton upon Trent’s Pirelli Stadium, home of Burton Albion FC.
