Sibley and Winslade named in ICC U19 squad.
27 January 2014
Dominic Sibley, a Whitgift Sixth Form student and Surrey CCC double-centurion, has been named in the England U19 squad for the ICC U19 World Cup, along with teammate and Old Whitgiftian, Jack Winslade.
In just his third first-class game for Surrey, 18-year-old Sibley broke numerous records in October, with a double hundred for Surrey against Yorkshire. Dominic became Surrey’s youngest-ever centurion, surpassing David Sales’ record as the youngest-ever double centurion in County Championship history.
Dominic toured South Africa last winter with the England U19s, carrying his bat for an unbeaten century in the second Test of that tour.
The competition will take place in February, with England facing hosts UAE, before playing Sri Lanka and New Zealand in the other group-stage matches. We look forward to following Dominic and Jack on the world stage.
