Dear Parents
Following an enquiry this week from the Croydon Advertiser, we were made aware that an article might appear that could cause unnecessary concern amongst our community. I would very much like to take this opportunity to share accurate information with our parents.
The enclosed copy of our Press release summarises our approach to planning which is entirely consistent with sound strategic thinking, critical to the delivery of excellence in teaching and learning opportunities.
As a community we have all been fully aware of the generous support and commitment of the Whitgift Foundation. All members of staff were aware that some rationalisation of staffing levels would take place for September 2010 and we have now begun this process. Stability and continuity are of paramount importance and little change is planned. We are concerned that the article that will appear in the Croydon Advertiser may be sensationalist and precipitate unnecessary anxiety.
Thanks to your loyalty and support, we are moving successfully into the second year of our newly combined setting. I am certain that parents will be continuing to enjoy recent newsletters which capture our students' enjoyment and commitment to Old Palace. The girls have achieved a formidable array of public examination successes together with many distinguished accomplishments on the part of a variety of extra curricular groups and individual undertakings.
Please do not hesitate to contact us at school if you require further reassurance and please be assured of our continuing commitment to your daughters' well being and happiness.
