Following the merger between Old Palace of John Whitgift School and Croham Hurst School in September 2008 The Whitgift Foundation gave all staff the assurance that there would be no redundancies for two years. This was to ensure a significant level of support and continuity for the communities of both schools.
We are currently reviewing staffing for September 2010 which will inevitably involve adjustments to staffing levels, roles and responsibilities. We very much hope that these changes can be made without recourse to compulsory redundancies
The wide range of subjects currently offered by the school will not be diminished and, in fact, provision in some subject areas will be strengthened.
The Whitgift Foundation has invested substantially in the school since the merger. Over a third of our students currently receive financial assistance to enable them to attend the school.
The Foundation is therefore committed to the future of the school as a vibrant, diverse and successful girls independent day school.
