Raising our Charitable Profile.....

Monday 18 October 2010

Working closely with the Fairfield Halls management this mutually beneficial arrangement allows The Whitgift Foundation to not only raise its own profile and promote its historical charitable commitment to the people of Croydon but, specifically will inform people of all ages about those charitable services and aims.

Based on Archbishop Whitgift’s aims of 1596 to “Educate the young and care for the elderly” the Foundation now manages three care homes in Croydon – Whitgift House, Wilhelmina House and The Almshouses – as well as establishing the Carers’ information Service which offers support, advice and training to any adult caring for a relative or friend. Three independent day schools – Trinity, Whitgift and Old Palace – provide education for boys and girls and offer financial support to approximately 40% of the students through an impressive bursary scheme totalling over £4.5m a year.

It is widely hoped that this creative publicity will further inform the public’s understanding of The Whitgift Foundation, and its considerable charitable role in the borough, through promotion within Croydon’s principal entertainments venue, which itself welcomes so many local people to a wide range of prestigious shows and events.
