Alumni share how the Whitgift Foundation bursary changed their lives in new video.

The Whitgift Foundation has launched a new bursary video, the first of its kind, to raise awareness of the charity’s work.

The Foundation makes a difference to the lives of thousands of young people through its £5million a year bursary scheme allowing talented children to attend its three schools, Whitgift, Trinity and Old Palace of John Whitgift School in Croydon.

Six alumni who attended the schools between 1953 - 2018 share how The Whitgift Foundation bursary has made a difference in their lives and the importance of the scheme to young people and their families today.

The video launch coincides with the forthcoming deadline for bursary applicants on 30th November; the Foundation welcomes applications from academically talented children from Croydon and the surrounding areas.

Applying for a bursary?

If you are applying to Whitgift, Trinity or Old Palace schools for September 2019 entry, there is still time to apply for a Whitgift Foundation Bursary. The bursary scheme supports a limited number of financially assisted places as part of our mission to provide education for young people in Croydon – please be aware that demand is high.

Bursaries and scholarships can be life changing and make all the difference to students at the Foundation’s three schools, evident by the many success stories coming from this opportunity.

The Whitgift Foundation currently gives financial support to 47% of students, totalling more than £5 million a year across the Foundation’s three schools enabling a strong inclusive culture, educating young people from many backgrounds and vast walks of life. Bursary assistance is available for household incomes of up to £90k for one child.
