Old Palace School Singers have won Junior Choirs competition
Old Palace of John Whitgift School is delighted at the news that the Year 3-5 Old Palace Singers have won the Flora Ezenwoye Cup for Junior Choirs.
The students won with the highest ‘Outstanding’ grading for an exceptional performance, both technically and artistically.
The adjudicator, Jeffrey Wynn Davies, commented on the ‘lovely solo’ performed by Amber and ‘the gentle choral opening which was hushed and musically staged’. Jeffrey also said that ‘the two-part work was confident, and the diction was impeccable. Dynamic contrasts were beautifully staged throughout and the students faces were eager and communicative’.
The students second song was a particular highlight: ‘a super rhythmic contrast with choreography to match. A detailed and very impressive performance’.
Well done to all the Old Palace students who took part.
