Geography comes to life for Old Palace Students in recent trip to Iceland.
Over half term, Geography students from Old Palace Senior School enjoyed a fascinating trip to Iceland. Spectacular scenery, glacial lakes, erupting geysers and a chance to swim in a geothermal lake were just some of the highlights, as well as the chance to stand on two tectonic plates at the same time!
Although the Northern lights failed to make an appearance- due to a lot of snow and rain - the students had a wonderful time. As Sara, from Year 10, said:
“The best thing about the trip was being able to see the theory we had studied in Geography lessons brought to life and understand its context in real world surroundings”.
