Box office hit Fantastic Beasts features Trinity Boys’ Choir.

If you have yet to go and see J.K. Rowling’s debut as a screenwriter, when you do listen out for local voices. Opening in cinemas last weekend, the new box office hit Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them features singers from Trinity School, Croydon.

Written by J. K. Rowling, inspired by her book of the same name, and directed by David Yates, the film has a star-studded cast including Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterson.  The score was composed by renowned American composer James Newton Howard, who invited the Trinity Boys’ Choir to be a part of the film.

Unlike many of the other film recordings the choir have done, being involved in this film meant that the boys had to keep their involvement top secret until its worldwide release in cinemas last week.

David Swinson, Director of Music at Trinity, said: “there’s a massive educational value to taking part in film recordings such as this – it’s a three hour recording session, where the boys really have to concentrate and focus. They are taking part in a professional, grown-up world and it was a brilliant learning experience for them.”
