Trinity host Premier League Trophy Tournament with Palace for Life Foundation

Local primary school students in years 5 and 6 joined us for a fun day of football, where they also had the opportunity to see the Premier League trophy and take photos with the coveted prize.

Elmhurst School, Orchard Way Primary School,  Rowdown Primary School, Hamsey Green Junior School,  Kingsley Primary Academy,  Downsview Primary School, Winterbourne Infant School, The Minster Junior School and Good Shepherd Primary School brought their 6-a-side teams to compete alongside two junior year teams from Trinity.

The tournament followed a group stage format, resulting in Trinity and Minster Juniors meeting in the final where Minster won the tournament on penalties.

Trinity’s Head of Football, David Kingston, said: “The tournament was a fantastic event; all ten schools had a brilliant time, playing matches against several other schools as well as having their team photo with the Premier League trophy. The children also discovered more about the history of the trophy and had a Q&A session with Premier League Ambassadors. Congratulations to the tournament winners Minster Junior School!”

Sam Bacon, Crystal Palace Primary Schools Programme Manager at Palace for Life, said: “There was some fantastic football on display. Thank you to Crystal Palace and to the Premier League for helping organise the event and for bringing the official Premier League trophy with them. The players were able to get some excellent photos, see the world famous cup up close, and ask the experts some questions about it. Thanks to all the members of staff that helped run the event and well done to Minster School!”
