Whitgift Care helps tackle loneliness by joining Contact the Elderly for tea party.

Wilhelmina House held a tea party organised by Contact the Elderly on Sunday 21st January. The afternoon was a great opportunity for residents to make new friends and meet new people who live in the local area.

Contact the Elderly has been organising free monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for groups of older people since 1965. Wilhelmina House residents had a wonderful time meeting new people and dancing to live music by visiting DJ Denny.

Wilhelmina House resident Sheila: “The whole afternoon was enjoyable and I got to dance with my own daughter! Keep up the good work everybody!”

Resident Shirley said: “It was good to meet the guests from Contact the Elderly, They were nice people.”

Contact the Elderly has supported more than 100,000 lonely older people. 73% of tea party guests say they feel less lonely because of their involvement with Contact the Elderly and 95% of guests say the tea parties give them something to look forward to.
